Hemp is regarded as one of the finest forms of plant protein available and contains dozens of amino acids, including the nine essential, plus a significant dose of healthy fats. The flavor is a bit “nutty”and mixes well with other ingredients complementing them without being overpowering.
This vegan version of pesto offers many options, including a sauce for your favorite gluten free pasta, as a drizzle on some fresh mozzarella cheese, or as a dip and spread on your next antipasti display. We paired ours with noodled butternut squash for a fantastic mix of flavors.
Ingredients
- ½ cup Organic Hemp Hearts
- 1 tablespoon Minced Garlic
- 1 cup Organic Basil, chopped
- 1 cup Organic Arugula
- ¼ cup Cold-Pressed Olive Oil
- Sea salt as needed
Preparation
Place all ingredients in the blender on high until you have a smooth consistency.
