Poblano peppers contain capsaicin that can help reduce inflammation, provide pain relief and boost metabolism. In addition to the numerous health benefits, these dark green beauties also taste amazing in chili with the perfect amount of kick.
Combine them with nourishing bone broth and lean ground turkey, and you have the perfect low-carb meal in minutes thanks to the Instant Pot.
Ingredients
- 1 lb organic ground turkey
- 1 TB cold-pressed olive oil
- 2 organic poblano peppers, diced
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup bone broth
- 1 12-oz jar chili verde sauce
Optional garnishes: diced tomatoes, avocado, baby bell peppers, cilantro, Cotija cheese, lime juice
Preparation
1. Place olive oil in Instant Pot and turn on sauté setting. When oil is hot, place the turkey in the pot and sauté, stirring and breaking up the turkey until cooked, 3-4 minutes.
2. Add chopped poblanos, onions, garlic, cumin and salt. Sauté another 2-3 minutes.
3. Cancel sauté setting and turn to chili/bean setting. Add broth and chili verde sauce, lock the lid and set for 20 minutes.
4. Release steam, remove the lid and serve. Add garnishes of your choice and enjoy!
