It’s that time of year…for cranberries…although we’ve determined they should be included in our diets as a year-round superfood!  These disease-fighting gems outrank most other fruits and vegetables in the antioxidant category, making them a staple in the fight against cancer and heart disease. High levels of vitamin C help ward of all those bugs floating around during the holidays.

Not only will they make your thanksgiving table gleam with their ruby color, this super-simple 4-ingredient recipe helps to streamline your holiday preparations. As a legitimate side, or slathered onto leftovers, you’ll never want to go another holiday without these alongside your turkey.

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz fresh organic cranberries
  • 2 organic clementines
  • 2 TB organic maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup toasted chopped pecans (optional)

Preparation:

  • Place cranberries and clementines (peels and all) in a food processor until well-chopped.
  • Add maple syrup and stir.
  • For best results, chill overnight to let the juices soak through the mixture.
  • Lightly toast pecans before serving and stir into mixture.
