Sweet and savory, these tasty stuffed dates are nutrient-dense and a great source of fiber. And better yet, they are very simple to make as a quick snack.
The creamy and tangy goat cheese perfectly complements the natural sweetness of the dates, and a topping of chopped walnuts adds a satisfying crunch.
These delicious morsels also make a party-perfect appetizer, especially for the upcoming holiday season!
Ingredients
- 12 pitted medjool dates
- 1/3 cup goat cheese
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/3 cup raw walnuts, chopped
- honey if desired
Preparation
1. In a small bowl, combine goat cheese and sea salt.
2. Cut a slit in each of the dates and stuff with the cheese mixture. Top with chopped walnuts.
3. Turn the oven on to the broil setting. Place the dates on a sheet pan and place on the highest rack in the oven for 2-3 minutes, watching closely, until golden brown.
4. Drizzle with honey for a little extra sweetness. (optional)
